Is it a benefit or a challenge?
This is the question that I have been asking myself throughout this process. As a future teacher, I do see the reason why it is important to immerse yourself into the technological aspect of education. Not only will it benefit you as a teacher, but it would be a great experience for students. Through my experiences with creating blogs thus far, I was able to create an on-going discussion with my peers about literacy. Additionally, I learned from my classmates and other professionals some techniques about teaching literacy.
While those were the positives, there were some challenges as well. The biggest challenge of them all was trying to figure out how to get it up and running. There were so many small complications that I had to figure out about my blog. For example, how to post links and other things to the blog. I also had to consider whether or not my blog had sufficient topics for discussion daily.
I really do believe that this practice will be a huge benefit for me in the future. It is an online resource that I can use to have discussions with other educators, so I can figure out the best possible way to educate my students. Beside, our purpose as educators is to ensure that our students are getting the best education. As a result, constant discussion with other educators can allow us to think about various strategies for teaching.
